Account Manager USA East – Protein Crystallography

Position Overview
We are looking for a technically curious, people-savvy Account Manager (Eastern USA) for our Protein Crystallography portfolio. Whether you're a bench scientist, engineer, or recent graduate with strong communication skills, this is a rare opportunity to make the leap into a client-facing role without needing prior sales experience.
You will represent our leading Protein Crystallography solutions, working directly with academic researchers and biotech/pharma customers to introduce, demonstrate, and finalize sales for specialized automation systems. You'll build relationships, offer technical insight, and help customers find the right tools for their breakthrough discoveries.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop relationships with key accounts and identify new opportunities across the territory
- Learn and demonstrate our advanced automation technologies to prospective and current customers
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to quotation, negotiation, and handoff to support
- Maintain high responsiveness, attention to detail, and follow-through to ensure customer satisfaction
- Represent Formulatrix at conferences, trade shows, and on-site demos
- Travel throughout the Eastern US (50% or more)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a science, engineering, or technology-related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine interest in interacting with people and building trust
- Technically savvy and a fast learner, with enthusiasm for automation, instrumentation, and laboratory workflows
- Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated, with the ability to manage your time, daily workload and schedule.
- Proficient with common software tools, including CRM systems and Microsoft Office
Nice to Have (But not essential)
- Previous lab experience, especially in structural biology or protein crystallography
- Familiarity with the life science industry and/or lab automation
- Prior experience in technical sales or customer-facing roles
- Experience working with academic institutions, biotech, or pharma clients
