From Harvesting to Formulation: Accelerate the Processing of Proteins and Virus Like Particles with the µPulse TFF System

About

Sample concentration and buffer exchange are integral to preparative workflows involving proteins and complex protein structures such as virus-like particles (VLPs). These steps are essential to meet specific chromatographic requirements between purification stages. Even after purification, proteins must be formulated in a specific buffer and at an appropriate concentration to maintain their structural integrity and effectiveness for downstream applications.

On a laboratory scale, dead-end filtration (DEF) and equilibrium dialysis (ED) are the standard methods for sample concentration and buffer exchange, respectively. However, DEF is a manual method with limitations such as slow filtration, scalability issues, and sample loss due to aggregation. ED, on the other hand, requires a large volume of exchange buffer, a lengthy dialysis time, and a subsequent concentration step.

In this webinar, we will demonstrate how the µPulse TFF System provides a fast, gentle, and automated approach for sample concentration and buffer exchange. We will explore case studies that highlight the efficiency of the µPulse compared to conventional methods for harvesting extracellular VLPs, as well as for the refolding, solubilization, and formulation of various proteins.
