CCP4 Protein Structure

Workshop 2017

Formulatrix is proud to announce our sponsorship of the CCP4 Protein Structure Workshop 2017.  The workshop will be held September 6-8th at the University of Cumbria, Carlisle, United Kingdom.

Join the workshop to learn about how X-ray Free Electron Lasers (XFELs) and Cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) are being used in protein structure determination.

Stop by our table to learn about how SONICC (Second Order Nonlinear Imaging of Chiral Crystals) is being used in conjunction with XFELs to help structural biologists determine structures.

SONICC can detect crystals <400 nm and therefore is well suited for imaging protein crystals that are not easily imaged with conventional techniques. Recent advances in nanocrystallography by Fromme Lab at Arizona State University demonstrated the need for an alternate technique to characterize protein samples containing sub-micron crystals. In collaboration with Ross at ASU, they have used SONICC to image protein crystals in microfluidic channels.
