About
Traditional air displacement systems often struggle with low volumes, viscous reagents, volatile solvents, and complex liquid classes. In this webinar, we introduce the FLO i8 PD, a next-generation liquid handler built entirely around positive displacement pipetting, and show how this architecture delivers tighter precision, faster execution, and more reliable performance across demanding workflows, all in footprint that saves bench space.
With no liquid classes to configure and no volume recalibration required, the system is incredibly easy to use, simplifying setup, reducing method development time, and minimizing user error across any workflow. The FLO i8 PD achieves excellent accuracy and low CVs, even at the sub-microliter range, while eliminating dripping, air bubbles, and inconsistent flow rates critical to applications like LNP formulation.
Independently spanning channels enable flexible plate and labware formats without changing heads, and support both contact and non-contact dispensing to accelerate execution and reduce tip use. Integrated deck scanning, liquid level detection, and collision detection further reduce setup time and improve run reliability.
Compact, intuitive, and automation-ready, the FLO i8 PD can handle whatever you throw at it — expanding what’s possible in modern liquid handling.

About the Speaker:
For nearly 10 years, Sydney White has worked on the development of the FLO i8 in a research and development role, helping to architect the user interface, pipette tips, and now product strategy at Formulatrix. She has been the product manager for the past 5 years, leading the transition to positive displacement technology and now working to optimize the platform and expand its adoption across a broader user base.
