F.A.S.T. now supports 24- and 48-well plates, expanding compatibility to offer greater flexibility, improved workflow adaptability, and enhanced support for a broader range of experimental needs.
Build Like a Pro: CSV Import Transforms Protocol Creation
F.A.S.T. has improved the Picklist feature and renamed it to CSV Import. The update introduces new options, including tip reuse, delays, user confirmation, and mixing, all accessible through CSV formatting. Users can now create protocols in a CSV file, import them, and the instrument will automatically convert them into executable protocols.
Enhanced Serial Dilution with Broader Plate Support and Replication Options
- F.A.S.T. now supports the use of 8- and 12-well plates for both the diluent and source plates in Serial Dilution, expanding the range of compatible labware for this application.
- F.A.S.T. has enhanced its Serial Dilution feature to support well replication (e.g., 3x1, 3x0.5, 3x0.25, etc.). You can now replicate the same dilution volume up to 24 times.
Other Improvements You’ll Notice Right Away
- Improved tip handling: Used tips can now be unloaded into an empty Tip Caddy on the Dual Caddy Deck.
- Simplified mixing workflows: Add mixing-only steps in Simple Transfer without requiring aspirate or dispense actions.
- Enhanced plate compatibility: Spear Bio plates can now be used as both source and destination in Broadcast mode.
- Better error recovery: New recovery action handles firmware timeouts during protocol runs
