The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on Sales Representative to represent our premium Liquid Handling portfolio of instruments in San Francisco and across the Pacific Northwest. As a key member of our sales team, you will manage the full sales cycle—from cold calling and lead generation to live product demonstrations and final negotiations. If you are highly organized, detail-oriented, technically savvy, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Revenue: Identify new prospective customers, follow up on leads, provide accurate quotations, negotiate pricing, and close deals.
- On-Site Demonstrations: Deliver compelling, hands-on product demonstrations of our unique liquid handling solutions directly at customer sites and trade shows.
- Relationship Building: Actively cold call and prospect to understand client workflows, uncover pain points, and present tailored Formulatrix solutions.
- Seamless Hand-offs: Coordinate with purchasing departments and smoothly transition post-sales installations to our dedicated support team.
- Maintain Brand Reputation: Provide responsive, organized, and top-tier service to protect and elevate Formulatrix’s reputation.
What We’re Looking For
Core Qualifications
- Sales Background: Proven track record of experience selling capital equipment.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to confidently pitch and present complex technical products to prospects.
- Technical Aptitude: Naturally curious and tech-savvy; able to quickly grasp scientific instrumentation and its application in the lab.
- Proactive Mindset: Highly self-motivated, comfortable with outbound cold calling, and possessing strong problem-solving skills.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel up to 30% to meet customers and attend trade shows. Must hold a valid driver’s license with a responsible driving history.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling directly into Pharma, Biotech, or Academic Biology Institutions.
- A strong background in biochemistry or biological research, with a solid understanding of laboratory procedures and assay development.
- Resides in the Greater San Francisco Bay area.
