Key Account Manager – Protein Crystallography

The Role
We are seeking a proactive, organized, and detail-oriented Key Account Manager for North America to drive growth within our Protein Crystallography portfolio. Operating in a fast-paced environment, you will manage the full sales cycle—from cold outreach and lead generation to technical demonstrations and final negotiations.
Because this role requires frequent use of our Bedford, MA demonstration laboratory, the ideal candidate must be based within a commutable distance of this facility.
We offer a competitive compensation package, with On-Target Earnings (OTE) of up to $160,000 for the right candidate. Compensation will be tailored based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Generation & Outreach: Actively identify and contact new prospects through cold calling and strategic networking.
- Technical Demonstrations: Master the technical details of our portfolio and deliver compelling product demonstrations at our Bedford lab and client sites.
- Deal Management: Manage the sales pipeline, provide accurate quotations, negotiate pricing, and navigate the procurement process.
- Customer Success: Seamlessly transition post-sales installation and onboarding to our dedicated technical support team.
- Travel: Travel as required to meet with clients, conduct on-site demonstrations, and represent FORMULATRIX at industry trade shows.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a science or technology-related discipline (associated industry work experience is highly preferred).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Technical Aptitude: Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly grasp complex scientific instruments and translate them into value for prospects.
- Drive & Autonomy: Self-motivated, highly responsive, and organized. We pride ourselves on our industry reputation and expect top-tier professionalism.
- Logistics: Proficiency with standard business software, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving history.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience or deep knowledge of the Life Science market.
- Proven track record in technology or scientific equipment sales.
