Lipid Nanoparticle (LNP) screening is often limited not by the diversity of candidate formulations, but by the formulation step required to accommodate this diversity. As experimental conditions multiply, preparing discrete LNP samples on an off-deck, standalone system creates a compounding problem: it reduces throughput and breaks the continuity of the automated workflow, introducing manual handoffs and the risk of errors.
To address this, Formulatrix and Parallel Fluidics collaborated to automate LNP formulation by integrating the Parallel Fluidics LNP Screening Array directly onto the Formulatrix FLO i8 PD liquid handler. This removes the need for a dedicated formulation instrument, enabling higher-throughput screening while maintaining workflow integrity.
